Wine: Patritti ‘Section 181’ Single Vineyard Grenache 2016
Region: McLaren Vale
Score: 94 Points – Tom
Appearance: Dark, very dark for a Grenache. Slight ruby colour Aroma: Raspberry, spices & maybe some French oak?
Palate: Very ripe, juicy red berries dominate the palate, but well structured with firm tannins and acidity.
Review: When I first tried this grenache, I was so blown away, I had to get it in. Such a serious quality grenache, it’s great to see this kind of wine coming out of Aus. Would also love to see this wine develop in the bottle over the next 5-10 years. Watch out for Patritti wines, they are producing some top notch McLaren Vale juice!
