Wine: Castle Rock Estate Porongurup Riesling 2020
Region: Porongurup, Western Australia
Score: 95 Points – Tom
Appearance: A light, pale colour
Aroma: Lime juice, white nectarine and stonefruit. Damn this smells good!
Palate: Similar to aroma, although the white nectarine takes over the flavour. Lovely acidic backbone for structure!
Review: Every time I tell people, you gotta drink riesling, they just look at me like like I’m crazy. Every time they try this wine though, they are hooked and can’t look back. I’ve had this wine compete with rieslings at $40-$70 and stand up against them, it’s that good! For a riesling drinker, this is serious value riesling! For the non riesling drinker, this is the great converter. I cannot say better things about this wine and Castle Rock Estate, as every vintage has me hungry for more!
