Wine: Picardy Pinot Noir 2018
Region: Pemberton, Western Australia
Price: $44.99
Score: 95.5 Points – Tom
Appearance: Light bright red hues with a brooding darkness towards the middle!
Aroma: Definitely a fruit focus on the nose. Black cherry & a bit of black pepper at the end. Maybe some raspberry too!
Palate: WOW! The acidity holds up against the bright fruits, yet is such a light, elegant and expressionistic wine! The nose and the palate match flavours. Maybe a bit more raspberry on the palate. An element of thought required in this one, definitely some complexity!
Review: This is a seriously good wine, and the current reviews it is getting are well deserved! To quote Picardy themselves “It has to be said up front: this is easily the best wine (red or white) produced at the estate, to date.” Complex, yet bright and great to drink now! With silky tannins and fruit that sticks around in your mouth, this is the best vintage yet, plain and simple!
